Teen Youth Meeting
Sunday, January 4, 5:30-7 pm
We’re excited to kick off the new year together at our January teen group meeting on Sunday, January 4, from 5:30–7:00 PM at McFarland UCC.
This meeting is especially important for anyone planning to attend the Re-Member/Pine Ridge, South Dakota, trip, as we’ll be spending time talking through our fundraising plans for the year. We’ll go over ideas in depth, share expectations, and make space for any questions or concerns you might have.
We’ll also be:
- Brainstorming Acts of Kindness to add to our February calendar
- Going over how to use the calendar together as a group
- Checking in on mental health and well-being, including:
- What you’re most excited about in the new year
- What you might be feeling apprehensive or nervous about
And yes—there will be pizza
We’re really looking forward to being together, hearing your ideas, and starting the year grounded in community and care for one another. Please do your best to attend, especially if you plan to join the trip. Please let us know if you plan on attending so we can get a headcount for food.

Lost/Missing: A parka, similar to the one pictured, was last seen at the Church after the service on December 21. It is thought that someone with a similar parka/jacket inadvertently took it, thinking it was theirs.
The parka that disappeared is a Columbia brand with a zip-out inner jacket. "Naylor" was printed inside on the label. Gloves were in the pockets. The parka is dark blue/black. Please email Ginger Hummer in the office with any information.

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
End of the Year Groaner: ‘Tis the day after Christmas, and the house is a mess; we partied and danced, leaving stains and a tear in my dress; as luck would have it, sis bought me a new dress as a gift, but what to do with the ruined one leaves me adrift. To a thrift shop in such a condition is really the wrong mission; recycling, though the thought ‘tis nice, is just not an option, so off to the landfill to become a toxin…unless I can clean and repair it or turn it to rags. (Just checking to see if this poem you have read, and promise, come next year, we’ll go back to the usual instead.)
