Options for Attending the NO KINGS RALLY Saturday, March 28!

Rachel Saladis and Martha Olsen will be joining the Singing Resistance group that will march from Brittingham Park to the Capitol starting at 12:30 on Saturday. They will meet at 11:30 at the church to carpool to the Olbrich bus stop, where they will then take the bus down to the park. Peter and Amy Cavi will be at the YWCA at 1:30 to meet up with folks who would like to attend the rally without the march. Please talk with any of those involved if you have questions.

Thanks and hope to see you there!

Eco-Palms for Palm Sunday

For the last few years, McFarland UCC has purchased Palm Sunday palms from Eco-Palms. Our purchase helps support the harvesting communities and the families that harvest and select the palms. It also helps protect the environment by protecting the rainforest in which the palms grow.

Pastor Search Committee Survey

An important component of our search for a new Pastor is to survey the feelings and desires of our congregation.  This survey is an important part of our search process. It helps us listen carefully to the congregation's voice as we discern who God is calling to be our next pastor. Your participation will help us better understand our congregation’s strengths, hopes, and needs, and will also help future pastoral candidates learn more about who we are.

The Pastor Search Committee is excited to share that our congregational survey will be conducted beginning on Palm Sunday, March 29, through April 15th. The surveys are completely anonymous. You will not be asked to identify yourself, nor can the committee trace a survey back to a respondent. Please be completely honest with your responses.

We're asking every adult who participates in the life of McFarland UCC to complete the survey. Like Communion, this invitation is open to everyone who worships with us, whether you are a member, attend regularly, or join us occasionally. Paper copies of the survey will be distributed at services, and completed surveys can be placed in a clearly labeled survey box in the community area. You are welcome to take a survey home and return it later by placing it in the box. If you prefer, pre-addressed and stamped envelopes will also be available so you may mail your completed survey back to us.

An online version of the survey is also available (see link below, also on the website). We ask that each respondent complete only one survey, whether online or on paper. For those who prefer to receive a paper survey by mail, please contact Ginger at (608) 838-9322 or gin...@mcfarlanducc.org to request that one be sent to you with a pre-addressed envelope for return.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to any member of the Pastor Search Committee: Heather Blackmore, Peter Cavi, Joan Jacobsen, Chris Taber, Rachael Saladis, Patrick Broderick, or Kiley Timler.

Thank you in advance for your much-needed and appreciated input!

Kids Corner

There will be focused activities for the kids during the next three Sundays. Please join us:

  • March 29 - Palm Sunday processional and “Holy Week in a box”
  • April 5 - Egg hunt at 9:30
  • April 12 - Creation Care and Earth Day activities

Weekly Creation Care Topic

Reduce/Reuse/Recycle

Another option for a Lenten habit change: Think about transportation. When possible, instead of just jumping in the car each time you need/want to go to work, visit a friend, or run a local errand, allocate time each day/week for walking, biking, rollerblading, car-pooling, or using public transport when you can. Plan errands, eg, drop off the library book on your way to the grocery store.

If you attended the Bill Miller concert, you will really enjoy this one too! Hosts, Art & Dawn Shegonee, Rachel Saladis, and Judy Taber
