Online Directory issue resolved

Several people shared that they were having issues getting to our Online Directory this week, this issue has been resolved. Happy to see so many people are using the directory!

  • Thank you to those who let me (Colleen) know about the problem and thanks for your patience, I appreciate it!
  • Last week Icon, the company that hosts our Online Directory, upgraded the system and that upgrade took everyone's access away. They showed me how to fix the problem so everyone should be able to get to the directory now.
  • If you can't get to it, please shoot me an email (col...@mcfarlanducc.org) and I will take a look at it.
  • If anyone is reading this note and didn't know that we had an Online Directory, I can show you what it looks like and answer any questions you have.
  • If you're interested in getting access to the directory, email gin...@mcfarlanducc.org and Ginger will help you out.

New Committee Forming

A Technology Committee is being formed! The purpose of the committee is to provide guidance and information to SaLT, committees, teams, and individuals regarding information technology. Anyone with an interest or background in technology is welcome! You don't have to be an expert. Please contact Kathy Schwenn to learn more or volunteer.

Art Display

Geoff and Marilyn Brink are featured in the current art display titled "North Shore of Lake Superior (Two Harbors to Grand Portage, Minnesota)" in the Fellowship area. Their photography is beautiful! Below is what Geoff wanted to share about the display.

"The North Shore of Lake Superior is one of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes of the Great Lakes region. The cold water of Gichi-gami (Great Sea), the Ojibwe name for Lake Superior, moderates the climate throughout the year, but also contributes to prodigious fog in the spring and snowfall in the winter. Lush vegetation begins near the rocky shoreline and extends up the slope of the Sawtooth Mountains. Water from the slope and from some of the Boundary Waters lakes flows back to the lake over numerous waterfalls. Several Minnesota State Parks and Natural Areas provide access to trails and the shoreline along Highway 61. No matter the time of year, there are endless opportunities to explore the natural beauty of the area (but leave your swimsuit at home)."

Weekly Creation Care Topic

Reduce/Reuse/Recycle

June 26: Bee Aware: June 22-28 is Pollinator Awareness Week. Per UW Extension, “a pollinator is any animal that visits flowering plants and moves pollen from flower to flower, which helps plants reproduce, making fruits and seeds. Many plants grown for food, beverages, fibers, spices, and medicine need to be pollinated by animals. In Wisconsin, crops such as apples, cranberries, cherries, green beans, cucumbers, and other fruits and vegetables, plus honey and beeswax, depend on pollinators. But pollinators in Wisconsin and around the world are facing population declines for many reasons." What can you do? Grow native plants, avoid pesticides, provide nesting sites by leaving some leaves and old stems on the ground, and spread the word. The Wisconsin Horticulture Extension and the Xerces Society provide excellent educational information on pollinators.

THIS COMING SUNDAY, join Meagan Mac Ionnrachtaigh of SACRED THREAD™ for Pattern Disrupt: Identify and implement tools to support a shift towards supportive behavior patterns. Meagan is a Yoga Teacher, Chef, Massage Therapist and Womb Continuum Care Practitioner.

Identify 1-5 behavior patterns in your life that you would like to shift for any reason. We will co-create a series of breath and movement that would interrupt the pattern once you become aware of it. For 40 days, we will commit to using this tool to disrupt

the identified patterns. Participants will be encouraged to take notes daily on how many times the patterns came up and the result of using the tool. We will also talk about life-nourishing patterned behavior, which participants may choose to begin implementing

as a course of action post-disrupt.

There will be two follow-up calls over Zoom—one 20 days in and one at the end. At the halfway point, we will troubleshoot and reignite motivation, and at the end, we will celebrate and talk about moving forward with our patterns as an ongoing challenge to work

with.

A potluck will follow. Please bring a dish to share. Gluten-free, plant-based whole food preferred.
