Extraordinary Times Require Action
The Wisconsin Supreme Court election primary will be held on Tuesday, April 7. You may have heard that in 2025, Wisconsin purged 192,000 inactive voters: anyone who had last voted in 2020 (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article). This happened because these potential voters were notified, but failed to return a letter in the mail.
All elections are important, but in these uncertain times when the courts seem to be acting as a check against governmental overreach, the upcoming Wisconsin Supreme Court election is critical. Reclaim Our Vote (ROV) is partnering with Souls to the Polls to encourage unregistered voters in Milwaukee to register for the upcoming Supreme Court election primary. This get-out-the-vote campaign also lays the groundwork for the midterm elections down the road.
Judy Taber and Jayne Fischer are again hosting postcard-writing sessions after church. Join us this Sunday. We have ordered 250 postcards and addresses, and the will be mailed March 9 and 23. We’ll provide the postcards, pens, and template for what to write, and you may even want to join us at McFarland Café once a week to write a few cards (let us know if you’re interested).
We hope you’ll join this campaign and write a few cards. Every effort helps! Thank you.

Teen Group Meeting
March 1, 5:30-7 pm
The teen group will meet on Sunday, March 1, from 5:30 to 7:00 pm at McFarland UCC. We’ll begin planning and creating items for our silent auction fundraiser, happening in May, to support the youth summer trip. Teens will brainstorm ideas, work on crafts, and start planning outreach to local businesses for donated baskets and gift cards. This will be a fun, creative, hands-on meeting. No prep required, just bring ideas!

Fellowship, Fun, Food
March 7, 4-7 pm
Games, soup supper, and optional soup exchange
Bring your appetite and join the fun! MUCC has several games and 3 decks of cards, but feel free to bring your own if desired.
Pick up containers for the optional soup exchange after church this week (3/1), if you'd like to participate. Fill it with your favorite soup, fresh or frozen, and bring it along on March 7. "Exchange soup" may be taken home as part of the "exchange," or donated to the McFarland Senior Center (it will be taken care of for you). Questions? Judy Taber

Easter Flowers
Believe it or not, Easter is just around the corner. Our sanctuary will soon be decked out with beautiful spring-colored flowers. If you would like to donate toward the purchase of one or more of the flowers we use this year, please sign up here and indicate if they are in honor of or in memory of someone. Flowers may be taken home after the Easter Sunday service.

Pilgrimage Opportunity
Have you ever had a desire to go on a spiritual pilgrimage? One of the most popular is the Camino de Santiago in Spain, sometimes called The Way of St James. It is an ancient network of pilgrim routes across Europe, primarily in Spain, leading to the shrine of the apostle Saint James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
In the month of September, Cody DeWayne and I are planning to walk at least half of the Camino from Burgos to Santiago, 303 miles. We wondered if anyone else from our congregation would like to go with us? If you have questions or would like more information, please let me know.
We hope to be sending back photos and posts that can be shared with the congregation as we journey across Spain.
We are both very excited about this pilgrimage! Hope you decide to join us. If interested, contact Jean Duchrow.

Talents on Display
Carol Lemke is featured in the newest "Talents on Display" in the Fellowship area. She is sharing her quilts with us for the next month or so. Check it out! It is respectfully requested that no food or drink be near the quilt display.
A note from Carol: I have been sewing my whole life. I started sewing clothes with my mom in grade school. I took many "home economics" classes throughout middle and high school. I purchased my first used sewing machine from the high school when I was 18. Not something a typical 18-year-old would buy. Through the years, I have transitioned from clothes to quilts. Quilting has been modelled for me by both my mother and my mother-in-law. I have done several quilting retreats and have learned a lot over the years. I hope you all enjoy looking at the quilts and projects I have made.

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Eco Lent Option: Try a buy-nothing challenge. Become a conscious consumer, asking yourself, “Do I really need this? What can I use that I already have instead? What might the impact be if I do or do not buy this? How does my consumer decision model creation care for others?”
