Hello all,
Rev Robert's back surgery was successful. He will be at the UW Hospital (old building) a little longer. He welcomes texts, phone calls, emails, and visits. His room number is B6/428. Contact info for Rev Robert: rev...@mcfarlanducc.org, 608-640-6088.
Thank you, Lisa Schweitzer and Tracy Donohue, for volunteering to lead the worship service on Sunday, July 26. If you would like to volunteer to lead Sunday worship or deliver a message, contact Walt Jackson, wa...@mcfarlanducc.org or 608-206-3588.
I also wanted to announce that a special SaLT meeting is being called on Sunday, July 26, 26 after the worship service in the sanctuary. Our main topic of discussion will be filling the pulpit and worship Sundays while Rev Robert convalesces. All are welcome.
Blessings,
Walt Jackson

Help raise money for wells in Uganda!
Jean Blackmore and Martha Olsen participated in the dedication and building of wells in Uganda. In September, you can join us to raise money for additional wells. The 2026 Walk-4-Water event is September 19 at McDaniel Park. The funds raised will provide safe drinking water to thousands of villagers in rural Uganda. Access to clean, safe water reduces disease and saves lives. The 2026 Walk-4-Water is the eighth year the McFarland Lutheran Church has held the event. Past fundraisers have provided for 23 wells in Uganda. This year’s goal is $57,500, enough to fund the drilling of 5 freshwater borehole wells in rural Uganda. We hope that you will join us!

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
July 24: Reduce (water use): Showering beats soaking. A five-minute shower uses 10 to 25 gallons of water, whereas a bath can use up to 70 gallons of water. Each time you opt for a shower over a bath, you'll save water and the energy required to heat those extra gallons of tub water. Time yourself as a challenge to take shorter showers. If every household installed a low-flow (2 gal/min or less instead of 2.5 gal/min standard) shower head, the United States could reduce its annual water consumption by 250 billion gallons, according to the EPA. This adds up to a $1.5 billion savings on water bills across the nation. Shower or Bath?: Essential Answer | STANFORD magazine
