Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
June 12: Recycling: What to do with all the small metal items that can’t go into regular recycling bins? Think nails, screws, those annoying yard flags left behind by contractors, small bottle caps, metal handles on takeout cardboard boxes, all of which, added up, lead to a lot of metal that can be kept out of the landfill but must go to the right place; these items are all too small to go into Pellitteri bins. Have a container that becomes part of your home routine where you can put small metal items and take them (any size metal items) to a metal recycling drop-off when the container is full. A few local options for drop-off: Heller's Recycling Services, 3620 Marsh Rd; All Metals Recycling LLC, 1802 S Park St; or Alter Metal Recycling - Madison, 4400 Sycamore Ave.

Dear Members and Friends of the Southern Region,
We hope you will join us for an Ecclesiastical Council for Lisa Hart at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 19th, 2026, at Salem United Church of Christ of Verona, 502 Mark Drive, Verona, WI 53593.
After leading a short time of worship, Lisa will make a presentation related to her ordination paper. That will be followed by a period of discussion with those present, who are invited to dialogue with her about her faith journey to this milestone moment, as well as asking her to expand on the content of her ordination paper.
Following the dialogue, a vote will be taken that will affirm the wider church's support of her candidacy for ordination. All pastors may vote, and lay delegates may also vote.
A copy of Lisa's Ordination Paper can be found here.
A reception will follow the Ecclesiastical Council.
Peace,
Rev. Christine Wilke
Member in Descernment Team
