Just Bakery Coming!
This Sunday (1/18) after worship
In September, MUCC began our relationship with Just Bakery, a branch of Just Dane. Just Bakery is a training program for people with different barriers to employment, such as homelessness and previous incarceration. The program teaches a variety of skills, and participants can even earn up to 15 credits towards a Culinary degree at Madison College! MUCC GETS TO BENEFIT, TOO!
On Sunday, January 18, Just Bakery will again sell delicious baked goods in the fellowship hall after worship service. They offer sweet and savory items, as well as vegan and gluten-free options, every other 3rd Sunday of the month. Payment accepted is cash, card, check, and (sometimes) Venmo. If you discover a favorite, you can make a request ahead of time.

Lost and Found Basket
"I have lots of items in me! Please unbury me!"
There are LOTS of items in the lost and found basket (many added recently) located in the Fellowship area under the table by the main entry doors. The new and old items will be donated just after the end of January.

You are "A Church with Heart!" Rev. Robert Koepcke expresses his thanks for the welcoming atmosphere he has experienced thus far. A special thank you to two groups, one that cleaned the Pastor's office and one that cleaned out the nursery. It takes a village, and MUCC is a village with heart. Thank you!

Dear Friends at McFarland UCC,
Thank you all so much for welcoming me warmly into your community in November and through Advent. It was a joy to celebrate this special season with your congregation.
I was moved by how committed and engaged this congregation is-both in worship and devotional settings, and with its involvement in various community initiatives. The car you demonstrated to each other and to me is true: You are a church with HEART!
Thank you for the kind and generous send-off you offered me (the floral/greenery arrangement & chocolates were much appreciated!). And blessings in the new season as you are guided by the care and wisdom of Rev Koepcke.
May the peace of Christ follow you all in the days to come.
Warmly,
Pastor Susan Shands

January Teen Fundraiser
The teens are amping up for noisy offerings in January to support the trip to the Pine Ridge reservation in July. We will collect all change/paper bills and donations at Sunday's service on January 25. For those attending via Zoom, there is always an option to donate online through our website, located under "Youth Ministry." Thank you very much and Happy New Year!

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Reduce: “While fast shipping isn't likely to go away, experts say its climate impacts can be meaningfully reduced through small behavior shifts, both from shoppers & companies. Bundling orders, skipping the overnight option & choosing a single weekly delivery can all make a difference. Data for the first nine months of 2025 shows that when customers chose a single delivery day for all items, it reduced more than 300 million delivery stops & avoided 100,000 tons (90,718 metric tons) of carbon emissions.” Chris Atkins of Amazon in a PBS News interview Dec. 2025.
