Yummy Comes to MUCC!

September begins our relationship with Just Bakery, a branch of Just Dane. Just Bakery is a training program for people with different barriers to employment, such as homelessness and previous incarceration. The program teaches a variety of skills, and participants can even earn up to 15 credits towards a Culinary degree at Madison College! MUCC GETS TO BENEFIT, TOO!

Starting Sunday, September 21st, Just Bakery will sell delicious baked goods in the fellowship hall after worship service. This will be ongoing, every other third Sunday of the month. They offer sweet and savory items, as well as vegan and gluten-free options. Payment accepted is cash, card, check, and (sometimes) Venmo. If you discover a favorite, you can make a request ahead of time. Hope that everyone enjoys this fun, connective, and, yes, YUMMY new opportunity for our community! Any questions, ask Amy Cavi!

Sound Bath - Chakra Balance and Affirmations

Sept 21, 1-3 pm

Judy Taber has a connection with Karen Jedele and helped coordinate this opportunity.

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a meditative experience where participants lie down or sit comfortably while sounds and vibrations from various instruments are played. These instruments can include singing bowls, gongs, chimes, drums, and other harmonic tools. The term "bath" implies that the participants are immersed in the sounds, allowing the vibrations to wash over them, promoting relaxation, stress reduction, and sometimes even spiritual or emotional healing. The intention is to create a therapeutic environment where individuals can let go of tension, quiet their mind, and enter a state of deep relaxation or meditation. Click here to register.

  3. Dementia/Alzheimer
  4. Grief and Loss

Cultural Heritage Art

Submitted by Dawn Cogger

As part of our Social Justice Ministry, we’re changing the art displays in the Fellowship Area (wall by the kitchen). Some months of the year are designated toward honoring a certain group.

In September and into October, we’re honoring the Hispanic Culture. The

Hispanic Culture embraces strong family values that include extended

family. There’s a love of vibrant festivities with music, dance and the love of sharing traditional food.

We have two art pieces representing Hispanic Culture in America. One art

print displays a Mexican Market. Take a closer look to see the specific

foods displayed, the colors and patterns of clothing. An acrylic painting

displays the importance of the grandmother (Abuelita in Spanish),

grandchild relationship with strong ties in nature and religious beliefs.

You may be part of this heritage. We'd love to hear and learn more.

You may want to incorporate something from the Hispanic Culture into your life.

Salt Spot

Highlights from September 11, 2025 meeting

  • Joan Jacobson, from the Outreach Funds Committee shared exciting updates on support for the FIRSTSTEP Scholarship Program through Madison College. Don't miss their update to the congregation on October 26.
  • We heard details of a possible upcoming Youth Group Fundraiser to benefit Water for South Sudan. Stay tuned for more details on a "Parents Night Out" event in November.
  • We interviewed another potential candidate for Interim Pastor.
  • If you feel called to serve in a leadership role, whether that be on SaLT, as a Financial Secretary or on the Settled Pastor Search Committee, please speak to a SaLT member so we are aware of your interest.

Weekly Creation Care Topic
