Recycle the Warmth Thank You
Thanks to everyone at McFarland UCC who donated bedding to the Recycle the Warmth campaign sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul and organized by the MUCC Creation Care Ministry and Social Justice Collective. Many families across Dane County will benefit from these donations. St. Vincent will distribute bedding directly to families in need, but if blankets collected during Recycle the Warmth exceed the required annual supply provided to families in need, the bedding may be sold in St. Vinny’s Thrift Stores to fund their food pantry, charitable pharmacy, and other services. Our donations will be delivered to St. Vincent this week. Thanks!

Weekly Creation Care Topic
Reduce/Reuse/Recycle
Reduce: According to UN Environment Programme, personal care or cosmetic products like shampoo or shower gel can contain as much plastic as the container that it comes in. Microplastics are NOT biodegradable so end up in our water streams. One example of an easy way to reduce plastic in the bathroom: use Dr Bronner’s All-One Pure Castile Magic Bar Soap from head to toe. The soap bar is certified fair trade & organic, using only natural ingredients, and it is wrapped in all paper. Locally, you can find it at Woodman’s or Walmart. Click here to learn more.
