🚀 Mathesar 0.2.1 Release

Hello everyone! We are excited to announce that Mathesar 0.2.1 is now available. This release addresses key user feedback from our initial beta release last month, focusing on improving usability, customization, and database management.

Please see our release notes for all of the changes and instructions on how to upgrade, but here are some highlights of what’s new:

  • You can now add custom nicknames to databases for better labeling and organization.
  • Column width changes in tables are now persisted - no need to manually resize every time you open a table.
  • Database connections no longer require passwords since Postgres supports that and some users indicated they would benefit from the feature.
  • Schema deletion is now safer, Mathesar no longer relies on CASCADE to drop objects in a schema.
  • New Docker-based installations now default to Postgres 17, the latest version of PostgreSQL.
We need your feedback!

It’s still early days for Mathesar’s beta and we’re aiming to increase our production usage. We would really appreciate it if you could try this release and share your thoughts on how Mathesar is working for you.

If you have 20 minutes, please schedule a call with me using this link - we’re happy to offer you a $25 gift card for your time.

Or if you’d prefer to provide feedback in written form, please email he...@mathesar.org.

Thank you!
