Here’s a quick question, mostly for Zack and Kriti that I think we can probably resolve async…

I’m working on displaying Mathesar’s “Documentation & Resources” UI in more places. This UI in the application links to a Community page on the wiki. That doesn’t seem right to me. My understanding of the wiki is that it should be for developers, not users. So I’m hesitant to drop a user into the wiki because it could be confusing for them if they incorrectly assume it’s some sort of user-facing documentation site and then begin to poke around.

My inclination would be to direct users to a Community page within the marketing site (instead of the wiki). Currently, the marketing site lumps all this content into a “Community” menu. I think it would be nice to have a page for that instead. I know there is a large project underway to reorganize the marketing site. Perhaps y’all are already planning such a page?

If a “Community” page doesn’t make sense in the marketing site, then I’d like to link to a new Community page in the User Guide. It would go immediately after the “Introduction” page.

Would anyone care to offer an opinion about this? I see three options:

  • (A) Link to a new page in the marketing site
  • (B) Link to a new page in the user guide
  • (C) Keep the link pointing to the wiki

We will have a Community page in the updated mathesar.org, it's already designed, so Option (A) will work fine. Zack should be able to point you to the URL next week.
