This is a quick notice to anyone administering a self-hosted installation of Mathesar.
If you have installed Mathesar by following our official installation instructions, then you can safely ignore this message. It doesn’t apply to you.
If you have gone out of your way to install Mathesar directly from our bleeding-edge git branch, “develop” (which should be very uncommon), then we’d like to give you a heads up… In pursuit of architectural changes for Mathesar beta, we will soon be pushing changes to the develop branch that temporarily break large parts of Mathesar. Please do not pull any changes after 8d6f1a45. Following our beta release, we plan to resume a practice of keeping the develop branch functional (if slightly unstable). And as always, we will still recommend that admins deploy Mathesar from the official releases instead of from the develop branch.
As a reminder, Mathesar’s latest stable version is still 0.1.7, and we are working hard to release a beta version of Mathesar that brings major performance improvements and permissions-related features.
