Do you want to see a safer, more family-friendly Bridgeway in Sausalito? On Tuesday, July 18th, the City Council will vote to kick off a planning study to look at different ways of providing bike lanes and safer pedestrian crossings on Bridgeway between Princess Street and Golden Gate Market.

This plan initially came to council back in April but was delayed because the council wanted to evaluate several options for the street instead of just one. All requested changes have been made to the contract and it’s time to kick off the plan.

We need your help to make sure the plan is not delayed further. Here’s how you can help!

Write an Email

Click here to email the city council urging them to vote ‘yes’ and start the planning process.

Here are talking points you should use in your email, but feel free to write it in your own words:

  • Identify yourself as a Sausalito resident and user of Bridgeway
  • Mention your experience of Bridgeway not working well for everyone
  • Say that this plan is a chance to improve Bridgeway with grant funding the city has already won
  • Urge them to accept staff recommendations and start the plan
  • Thank them for their time and consideration
  • Sign off with your address (very important).

Join the City Council Meeting

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 18th at 7 pm. The Bridgeway item will likely come up at 7:30 pm. You can join remotely on Zoom by clicking this link (passcode: 123456), or attend in person at city hall (420 Litho Street). If you give a spoken comment, use the talking points above. Click here to see the full agenda.

Join us for a Pre-Council Strategy Meeting

If you want to get the latest details or ask any questions about the process, I’ll be hosting a Zoom meeting the night before the city council meeting on Monday, July 17th at 7 pmClick here to register.
