As chair of the Dean of of the School of Liberal Arts Search Committee, it's my pleasure to let you know that the search process for the next dean is underway. The search committee has been formed and President O'Donnell has given the committee its charge. The committee members are:

- Dr. Donald E. Gibson, Dean of the O'Malley School of Business, representing the Council of Deans, Chair of the Search Committee
- Dr. Evelyn Scaramella, Modern Languages & Literatures, School of Liberal Arts faculty
- Dr. Heidi Furey, Philosophy, School of Liberal Arts faculty
- Dr. Arshia Anwer, Communication, School of Liberal Arts faculty
- Dr. Dominika Wrozynski, English, School of Liberal Arts faculty
- Dr. Jordan Pascoe, Philosophy, School of Liberal Arts faculty
- Dr. Christie Gonzalez-Toro, Kinesiology, School of Education & Health
- Dr. Joseph Capitani, Chemistry & Biochemistry, School of Science
- Ms. Barbara Fabé - VP of Human Resources, Representing the Council of Vice Presidents
- Dr. William H. Walters, Executive Director of the Library, Administrative Representative
- Mr. DeVaughn Harris, Philosophy, Undergraduate Student Representative
Executive Assistant to the Provost, Anne Morrison, will be providing logistical support to the committee.
The tentative timeline for the search will be:
Early January, 2022: Position profile and advertisement is posted and portal is opened for applications
By February 23, 2022: Applications are due
Late February, Early March: Semi-finalists are selected and interviewed
Late March, Early April: Finalist Interviews
First-half of April: Selection of the next dean
In order to protect the confidentiality of the process and of the candidates in the pool, all committee members have signed a confidentiality agreement. If anyone wishes to contact the committee, please do so through me as the chair.
I encourage all of you who know of anyone who is or may be interested in the position to contact Anne Morrison and me so those names can be sent a position profile. The committee is striving to attract a diverse pool of applicants and candidates for the position.
