1. I get his message when I try to load MASH: Error: The specified module could not be found.

This happens when the libfftw3f-3.dll isn’t installed in the right place. It needs to be in the Maya ‘bin’ directory, so the file path for Maya 2012 would be:

C:\Autodesk\Maya2012\bin\libfftw3f-3.dll

2. MASH is limiting me to 20 objects even though I’ve entered my registration information.

This is a known bug in 2.2 and only seems to appear every 40 or 50 loads of MASH (your milage may vary!). This has been fixed in 2.2.1 but if you don't have time to update the work-a-round is to simply reload the scene (save and reload), this cures it!

3. In Maya 2012 when I open a sample project nothing happens when I adjust sliders on MASH nodes.

A Maya bug, simply adjust the number of objects on the Waiter to ‘wake up’ the scene, you can put the number back to the original count immediately.

4. Mental Ray crashes in Maya 2014.

A known bug in Maya 2014, particle instancers do not render at all with Mental Ray, Autodesk know about it and are working on a fix!

5. Do you offer a floating license?

Not at the moment. This would increase the costs of MASH so we're keeping things simple for now. It is something we're looking at for the future if we can keep prices friendly.

1 license of MASH comes with 3 activations. We've done this so that you can use MASH on more than one version of MASH or OS without having to move licenses around. You can still move these around if you need to by deactivating one and activating another. You'll need an internet connection to do that.

6. Can I network render with MASH?

Yes! We've not tested this across the board but any Render Manager that launches Maya in batch mode should work just fine. Test it our with the trial to check it works with your specific set up. MASH runs unrestricted in batch mode so you can install it on as many of your render nodes as you like.
