Good morning,

Please see the below AmeriCorps opportunity! This is open to all but probably best suited for our PRT students. Just let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks and have a great day!

Eric

Hi Sandra!

If I’ve reached the wrong person, please don’t hesitate to point me in the right direction—but I wanted to reach out and share a few AmeriCorps service opportunities currently available with Skowhegan Outdoors, a program of Main Street Skowhegan.

We’re recruiting now for three positions that begin this winter and extend into 2026:

Outdoor Programs & Pathways Lead (FT) – supports community programming and workforce development through CANOE (Career Access through National Service & Outdoor Education).

Outdoor Industry & Partnerships Coordinator (FT) – builds partnerships and workforce connections across Maine’s growing outdoor recreation sector.

Gear & Bike Services Technician (PT) – maintains outdoor recreation equipment and supports the operations of the Basecamp Gear Library.

We will also be looking for a Trail Tech and other spring/summer roles to help support our operations.

These positions are open to individuals 18 and older who have completed high school (or equivalent), and we’re happy to support professional development for members as part of their service. All roles are based in Skowhegan, Maine, and include a living stipend, an AmeriCorps Education Award, and hands-on experience in outdoor program management, industry engagement, and community service.

If these opportunities might align with your students’ interests, it would be great if you might share the opportunities via skowheganoutdoors.com/join-our-team. And if there’s someone else in your department or career office who would be the best contact, please let me know.

Thank you for your time and for all you do to connect students to Maine’s outdoor industry and conservation workforce pathways.

Warm regards,
Amber
