The Long Walk Home - a veteran-led nonprofit dedicated to stopping Veteran suicide - is hosting a retreat here in Bingham, Maine from June 11–14, and they're looking for a volunteer videographer to help document it. Every day, roughly 17 Veterans are lost to suicide. The Long Walk Home addresses this crisis head-on through peer mentorship, self-empowerment programs, and community-building events - all provided free of charge to Veterans and their families.

The retreat and training will bring together Veterans, military families, union leaders, elected officials, and advocates who care deeply about suicide prevention. They're looking for a volunteer to film select portions of the event in a way that honors the people in the room and tells the story of this work. You don't have to be a professional videographer, but some experience with videos and editing would be helpful.

In exchange for your time and talent, they're happy to offer:
• Lodging for the duration of the retreat (June 11–14)
• All meals included
• Whitewater rafting with the group on the Kennebec River
• Pickup from the Bangor Airport

This is a rare opportunity to contribute your skills to a cause that directly saves lives, while spending four days in the Maine woods alongside people who are doing remarkable work. You're bound to learn additional tools related to suicide prevention that could help you in many settings - whether with Veterans, students, or others.

If you'd like to learn more about The Long Walk Home before deciding, you can visit their website at https://thelongwalkhome.org/.

Please reach out to Ron Zaleski ASAP to chat if you have questions or want to talk through what filming would look like. He's at r...@thelongwalkhome.org or 305-399-5354.

Let me know if you have any questions and good luck!

Thanks and have a great day!

Eric
