Star Island Corporation, which owns and operates a family conference and retreat center on Star Island of the Isles of Shoals, near Portsmouth, NH is hiring seasonal employees for the 2025 season. We hire approximately 100 people (18 or older), often college students looking for summer jobs.
Every year, we reach out to different schools across New England to ask for help posting our hiring flyer on their campus and community spaces.
This is a wonderful opportunity for applicants to become a part of a strong, supportive, and hard-working community. Working on Star Island offers a unique employment opportunity in a beautiful island location. Staff enjoy an enriching learning experience that, in many cases, shapes future careers. The words “best job ever” are often used to describe working on Star Island. Our seasonal staff bring a wide range of experiences and interests to the Star Island community, including hospitality/food service, customer service, marine and environmental studies, creative leadership, etc., and many find great enrichment to their studies in a summer on Star Island.
We strive to be an extremely welcoming community and are taking initiatives to be as inclusive as possible, welcoming people of all backgrounds, as ingrained in our values of accepting and including all people in our mission. We are in the process of reaching out to under-represented communities in New England and looking at best practices for hiring a diverse workforce and improving our accessibility for all people.
