Magnolia announcement. Unbundling of the Periscope Result Ranker module

Hi Magnolians,
As part of our ongoing effort to improve how users Search within Magnolia and its performance, as of 6.2.17, the Periscope Result Ranker module, also known as the AI-Ranking module, is unbundled from Core.
Magnolia Forge
This announcement is to let you know that we're stopping support for this feature. However, it will still be available to both current and future customers via our Magnolia Forge community. This way, any further contributions to the module can be made via open-source development.
What does this mean for current users of the AI-ranking module?
- The module has been donated to Forge. If you want to make contributions in the future, you'll have access to the code there
- Magnolia won't carry out any further development on the module, nor bug fixes, and won't test the module with new versions anymore
This is only the first step that our Authoring Experience team is taking to address customer needs in this area. The upcoming months will be dedicated to exploring further improvements. They will, not only replace the AI-ranking functionality but also look into a broader initiative around "Find relevant content fast within Magnolia".

Should you, your authors or marketers, have feedback you want to share with us, you can do so in multiple ways: by voting on the initiative that is most important to you, leaving us a comment on our Roadmap portal for this improvement, or by Submitting a new idea to us.
