Dear MES Community,

I have an opening for a PhD student in my group in the Sustainable Energy PhD program at ASU that may be of interest to this community. Please share with any students you know that might be a good fit. Please see below for the full ad.

I am recruiting a PhD student to join my group at Arizona State University in the School of Sustainability, starting Fall 2026!

My research group focuses on supporting the transition to a clean, equitable, and resilient energy system. I’m looking for a motivated PhD student to contribute to one of the following research areas:

🚘 Electric vehicle access – analyzing EV adoption patterns, identifying barriers to access, and evaluating policies and programs to make access more equitable.
🌎 Air quality and health impacts of decarbonization – modeling the air quality and public health outcomes of strategies to decarbonize the transportation and electricity sectors, with a focus on disparities in health impacts.
🔥 Energy infrastructure resilience – assessing how energy infrastructure is vulnerable to climate hazards (e.g., wildfires, floods), identifying at-risk communities, and modeling downstream effects on climate, air quality, and health.

Who should apply:
I'm looking for students excited about energy systems, sustainability, and environmental justice. Experience with GIS, scientific programming (e.g., Python or R), or energy systems modeling is a plus.

How to apply:
Details on the application process are available at https://lnkd.in/giTJ6Hf8.
If you are interested, please reach out with your CV or resume.

Application deadline:
December 15, 2025

Best,
