Subject: [RESECON] EPA Endangerment Finding on Greenhouse Gases: Opportunity for Students & Higher Ed to Voice Their Opinions
Dear Higher Ed and Other Colleagues – The USEPA has proposed rescinding its endangerment finding and ending federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions. They are inviting public comment on their proposed rulemaking. I encourage you to use this opportunity to educate your students and yourself on this important policy issue, hone skills for reasoning and argumentation, and promote civic responsibility.
Dickinson College’s Center for Sustainability Education has created a webpage to facilitate commenting on EPA’s proposal. The page includes links to EPA’s proposal, its regulatory analysis, some relevant resources, guidance on writing effective comments, and instructions for submitting comments. You can access our webpage here: Voice Your Opinion.
Higher education can bring important perspectives to public discourses about responding to climate change. I hope that you will submit comments on EPA’s proposal, encourage students to submit comments, incorporate this initiative into relevant classes, and share with colleagues at other colleges and universities. The deadline to submit comments is 11:59 PM EDT on Monday, September 22, 2025.
Thank you for your consideration. I would be happy to answer any questions. Apologies if you receive this email more than once.
