Dear IBL SIGMAA members,

The MAA has notified us that they will be migrating our sigmaa communications from this mailing list to MAA connect. Going forward, communications from the sigmaa will appear on MAA connect rather than here, so if you haven't signed up for MAA connect yet, now would be the perfect time to do it. Answers to some frequently asked questions from the MAA are included below.

What does this mean?

Starting today, you should login to MAA Connect to view communications from our SIGMAA. You can login with your MAA member credentials. If you have any issues logging in, please contact MAA Customer Service at 800-331-1622 or maase...@maa.org

What if I only want to communicate via email?

That is a valid request and one that MAA Connect can handle. You are automatically set up to receive a daily summary from your community. If you decide you want to change that to real time (i.e. you will receive one email every time a discussion is started or replied to) then you will need to login to change your preferences. If you want to reply to an email, you must login to accept the terms and conditions which will automatically pop up the first time you login. If you need help with this, please contact MAA Customer Service at 800-331-1622 or maase...@maa.org

Can I still post to our google group?

No, each google group will only act as an archive for older conversations. The settings for posting to the group will be deactivated.

Will I still be able to see previous discussions from our google group?

Yes! Each SIGMAA will have an archive page that lives in MAA Connect. You can find this page by going to Browse > SIGMAA Archives. If you have desktop access to the group, this will not go away, you just cannot post anything new.

I don’t know how to use MAA Connect, what should I do?

We want to help you navigate the platform. The first thing you should do is watch the Getting Started video on the home page, or read over the Getting Started instructions. If you have more questions, you can ask for help in our SIGMAA community or reach out to MAA Customer Service.

We look forward to making a smooth transition, but please reach out if you have any questions!
