The Academy of Inquiry Based Learning is offering 4 professional development events in summer 2020.

These workshops are practical, hands-on, and interactive workshops for college math instructors interested in teaching with IBL approaches. The focus of the workshops is on developing the skills and practices necessary for successful implementation of IBL. AIBL is offering two intensive workshops, complete within one week; a mini-course that extends across 3 weeks; and a targeted workshop that focuses on IBL for future elementary teachers, taught in a mini-course format across 2 weeks.

2020 Portfolio of Virtual Mini-Courses and Workshops:

  • June 16-July 2, Virtual IBL Mini-Course (extended mini-course)

  • June 23-26, Virtual IBL Workshop #1 (4 day intensive)
  • July 6-9, Virtual IBL Workshop #2 (4 day intensive)
  • June 1-10, IBL Workshop on Courses for Future Elementary Teachers (targeted mini-course)

Participants will learn new skills from experienced IBL instructors, reflect on current teaching practices, and prepare to teach their own IBL math course during the next academic year.

These workshops emphasize core concepts and skills that will be useful in teaching both virtual and in-person classes. They will address virtual teaching strategies as appropriate and as we are able to in a fast-moving, dynamic situation.

Registration for these workshops are now open and each workshop is $50. Please contact
Katie Kahle, AIBL Assistant, with any further questions.
