Colleagues,

I am very excited about the program that is coming together for this summer's conference. In my previous emails, I advertised the keynote sessions with Belin Tsinnajinnie and Darryl Yong as well as the exciting Live Classroom opportunities. In this final email before the upcoming registration deadline (http://www.mathlearningbyinquiry.org/?p=936), I would like advertise the Workshops. In support of the conference goals of meeting participants where they are in their practice while challenging all to extend that practice, we will offer the following workshops as part of our time together in Denver:
  • Jessica Hagman and Taylor Martin: Diving, Wading, and Dipping your toes into I-BME (a workshop for those new to teaching with inquiry)
  • Karen Keene and Nicholas Fortune: Setting the Stage for Small Group and Whole Class Discussions: Eliciting and Building on Student Thinking (new to facilitating discussion)
  • Valerie Peterson and TJ Hitchman: New to Talking About Equity
  • Robert Campbell and Amanda Harsy: New to Mastery Grading
  • Drew Lewis and Adriana Salerno: An Introduction to Team-Based Learning
  • Stan Yoshinobu and Sandra Laursen: Leading Mini-Workshops for Maxi Impact: Key Concepts and Practices for Sharing IBL with Colleagues
  • Celil Ekici: Using Scholarship of Teaching on IBL to Overcome Amnesia, Fantasia, and Inertia as Pitfalls for Teaching (new to SoTL)
Please find, attached, descriptions for all of these sessions and more.

Whether you are new to or experienced with learning and teaching with inquiry, come join us for an active, participatory conference to learn from and connect with fellow educators and students!

Sincerely, Brian Katz (for the planning team)
