Good afternoon everyone.

Our January Mass Broadvband Coalition meeting will be at 4:00 PM on Thursday, January 25th.  I just wanted to get a save the date message out to you.  Please let me know if you have any suggestions for agenda items.

Our February Coalition meeting will be earlier in the month than usual, on Wednesday February 14th and will be a morning meeting at 10:00 AM.  This date and time are to accommodate Special Guest Gigi Sohn from the American Association for Public Broadband (link below).   This will be a combination in person and Zoom hybrid meeting.

The location is yet to be determined but we are hoping a South Coast Community (such as Fairhaven, New Bedford, Dartmouth) would be willing to host so as not to be too distant from Gigi’s meetings the prior day in the Falmouth area.  If your community has a good space that can be made available for a hybrid meeting please let us know.

Also, out of respect for Gigi, I’d like to get a head count of those who would plan to attend in person because if this will be 98% via Zoom and only a few are in person then we will just schedule as a Zoom meeting.

If we can get at least 6-10 people in person that would be respectable and worth holding as a hybrid  meeting.

We owe thanks to David Eisenburg, from Falmouth to coordinating Gigi’s time while she is in our region and for offering to help schedule her time with the Coalition before she departs the area.

David suggested we write a press release to get the word out and I was thinking of seeing if we get a mention again in the Mass Municipal Association monthly newsletter (The Beacon). Again, we want to make sure there is solid interest in the in person portion of this meeting prior to scheduling her time so I’m hoping to hear from you soon

Thank you,

Bob

Hi Bob,
We have a meeting room in our Town Hall that will hold around 60 people comfortably that can do hybrid as well. Let me know if you want to use it and I will sign it out for that morning.
