2026 training announcement

The 2026 ArchivesSpace virtual training schedule is now available at
https://archivesspace.org/resources/user-resources/trainings.
We’re very excited to be offering 6 virtual training opportunities this year!
ArchivesSpace will be offering four community-wide virtual training offerings in 2026. Each training will include a quick start guide for attendees to reference during
and after the training as well as immediate access to the recording of the training.
Individuals from ArchivesSpace member organizations are eligible for a $100 discount on training. To receive the discount, follow the link provided and create or login
to your MyLyrasis account. Your MyLyrasis account must be affiliated with an ArchivesSpace member organization. This can be accomplished by creating an account or logging into your preexisting account with an email address affiliated with an ArchivesSpace
member organization’s email domain. Once logged in, your discount should be applied.
If you are using an email address affiliated with an ArchivesSpace member organization and your discount is not applied, email
Archives...@lyrasis.org
before completing checkout.
ArchivesSpace members who cannot attend the training will have access to the training recording in the
Help
Center following each training.
In addition to these four community-wide trainings, ArchivesSpace will be offering two member-only training opportunities in 2026. These trainings will be offered to
the ArchivesSpace member community at no charge. These trainings are still in development and registration will open closer to the dates.

strategic roadmap. The development of the roadmap was a primary focus of the Board for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

Takes a Village (ITaV) open source sustainability facets: Governance, Community Engagement, Technology, and Resources. The ITaV Framework and Toolkit is
a practical reference source and set of tools developed by Lyrasis to help open-source software programs serving cultural and scientific heritage organizations plan for long-term sustainability, assess and develop balanced strategies to advance sustainability
goals, and integrate sustainability plans into other organizational planning efforts.

Join us on January 13, 2026, at 12:00pm-1:00pm EST (find
your local time) to contribute to a discussion with Yale University on enhancements to ArchivesSpace they would like to contribute back to the core code
of the application.
Building on their December 8th presentation at our
webinar
on community enhancement projects currently in development, Alicia Detelich and Mary Kidd of Yale University would like to hear directly from the member
community about the changes they would like to contribute to the community. These changes include improving the make representative functionality in the Digital Objects module of ArchivesSpace, support for a IIIF viewer within the application, and CSV export
refactoring.

Training announcement: intro to the Public User Interface, February 4, 2025
|

ArchivesSpace will be offering our first community-wide training of 2026 on
February 4, 2026, from
12pm-3pm ET/9am-12pm PT. This training will introduce attendees to the ArchivesSpace
Public User Interface.
Upon completing this workshop, participants will:

understand the function of agent, subject and classification records in the ArchivesSpace application
-
be able to create agent and subject records in ArchivesSpace
-
be able to edit agent and subject records in ArchivesSpace
-
be able to merge agent records in ArchivesSpace
-
be able to link agent and subject records to other record types in ArchivesSpace
-
be able to create classifications in ArchivesSpace
-
be able to link records to classifications in ArchivesSpace
This workshop presumes that participants have taken the ArchivesSpace Basics workshop or have practical experience with ArchivesSpace sufficient to create records with
minimal guidance. It also assumes that all participants have solid knowledge of basic archival descriptive standards and workflows.
