New job posting for ArchivesSpace: Standards and Testing Archivist
|
|
|
We are now accepting applications for a new three-year term position on our team:
Standards
and Testing Archivist. This job may be particularly appropriate for an early career archivist.
The person in this position will split their efforts between standards support and testing-based activities and serve as the
liaison to the User and Technical Advisory Council sub-teams who are involved in these activities. For the standards part of their time, they will keep track of the overall archives standards landscape and ArchivesSpace’s support of specific standards that
are important to our current and future community, with a particular focus on creating crosswalks and other tools to improve ArchivesSpace’s support of international standards like ISAD(g). The testing part of the job will include doing regular manual testing
of the ArchivesSpace application to make sure things work correctly and writing behavior scenarios and simple automated tests to improve our testing coverage overall. Like all ArchivesSpace jobs, it is fully remote and professional travel and training relevant
to the work of the position will be paid for and encouraged.
The
full
job description is on the Lyrasis jobs portal. Applications must be received through the portal and must include a cover letter and resume.
The deadline to apply is July 7, 2025.

Registration announcement: 11th Annual ArchivesSpace Member Forum
|
|
|
The ArchivesSpace program team is excited to announce that
registration
is now open for the
11th Annual ArchivesSpace Member Forum! This year’s forum will be held on August 24, 2025, in Anaheim, CA, at the
Hilton Anaheim. In addition to this in-person opportunity to meet, we will also be holding two virtual learning opportunities in advance of the in-person forum on the 24th.
This community-driven member forum is a
free half-day event open to anyone affiliated with an ArchivesSpace member institution. Just as in previous years, this will be a free opportunity for staff from ArchivesSpace member institutions
to meet and share information with each other and the program team about all things ArchivesSpace. While this event is free, registration is required.
The agenda for the in-person meeting is still being developed, but anyone planning to attend the events on the 24th is encouraged
to register now to assist the planning team in making appropriate arrangements. We also encourage all attendees to consider
submitting
a proposal for the forum to help make this event great!
In addition to the in-person forum, we will be offering a pre-forum virtual workshops the week before the forum. Details and
registration for these sessions are also available on the wiki.
For a more detailed agenda, visit the event wiki at
