ArchivesSpace will be offering a multi-session training on using the ArchivesSpace API on April 7, 14, and 21, 2026.Ā This is the first time the ArchivesSpace trainers corps has offered a virtual training on the ArchivesSpace API and we hope to use this training as a pilot and learning opportunity to offer more trainings like this in the future.Ā Since this training is a pilot, it will be offered free to ArchivesSpace members only and capacity will be limited to 25 attendees.Ā

Participants in this workshop will learn:
A general overview of APIs
How to access the ArchivesSpace API
If using the ArchivesSpace API is right for you and your work
How to communicate about the ArchivesSpace API to colleagues
How to use the ArchivesSpace API to complete tasks in ArchivesSpace
Participant requirements:
High level of participation -- attendees should register only if they are prepared to participate in discussions and complete exercises assigned between workshop dates
Working knowledge of ArchivesSpace functionality and the staff user interface
Have administrative access on the computer you are using so you can download software like Postman on the computer
Note: attendees will not be expected to install ArchivesSpace on their personal computer
