Call for Proposal open ArchivesSpace 2026 Virtual Member Forum
|
|
|
|
[posted on behalf of the Virtual Member Forum Planning Team]
Mark your calendars for this year's Virtual Member Forum!
Taking place March 25-26, 2026, our Virtual Member Forum will be a two-day event spanning a variety of time zones and ArchivesSpace experience levels. A schedule and
information about how to register for the event will be released closer to the forum.
We are now accepting session proposals via our
online form. All users are encouraged to submit a proposal. We want the program to reflect the full spectrum of ArchivesSpace users – whether you are new to the platform, or a pro; running a hosted instance, or locally administered; whether you are part
of a large institution, or a lone arranger, let us hear from you. The deadline for submissions is February 27th.
We welcome presentations or discussions addressing any aspect of your institution’s ArchivesSpace use. The following ideas are provided to assist with brainstorming,
but are not meant to limit proposal topics in any way:
-
Small Changes, Big Impacts: implementation of plugins, tools, or new workflows to make work in ArchivesSpace more efficient
-
Half-Baked: share your in progress work in ArchivesSpace
-
Show Off Your Instance (lightning talks encouraged)
-
Adventures in Bulk Updating: workflows, tools, and tips for data migration and cleanup projects
-
Doing Enough with Less: addressing challenges of limited resources, whether collections staff, funding, IT support, etc.
The following presentation formats are encouraged, although you can propose additional formats in your proposal submission:
-
Presentations: There can be a standalone presenter or more than one if the topics are related.
-
Discussions: Typically scheduled for the second day of the forum.. This would require a moderator. A discussion session should include panelists and/or guided questions to facilitate discussion.
-
Lightning talks: 5-7 minute presentations, with collective Q&A after the final talk of the session has concluded
We will be reviewing proposals on a rolling basis, and we encourage you to get your proposals in early so that there is ample time to provide feedback or request clarification.

Show us your ArchivesSpace implementation webinar series announcement
|
|
|
|
In an effort to highlight the diverse archival organizations within the ArchivesSpace community and their different approaches to ArchivesSpace implementation, we are
developing an ongoing webinar series titled "Show Us Your Implementation."
Through this series, we hope community members are able to identify organizations with similar use cases to their own and to get inspired to approach ArchivesSpace in
a way they may not have considered before. To that end, we’ve created a
submission form to participate in this series. Submissions will remain open and will be evaluated on a rolling basis. We plan to offer these webinars regularly
and feature three institutions in each hour-long session. With almost 550 ArchivesSpace members, we hope this series will be a great success!

Contribute your use case to the ArchivesSpace Help Center
|
|
|
|
Based on community feedback, we’re working to add a new section to the ArchivesSpace Help Center featuring use cases from ArchivesSpace member organizations that highlight
how those organizations use the functionality within the application to accomplish their work. We know that community members are very eager for examples like this but to make this happen, we need your help!
While the ArchivesSpace User Documentation Sub-team of the User Advisory Council works to ensure the ArchivesSpace user manual contains the documentation necessary to
explain how the application works, we know that how individual organizations actually use the application depends on the specific context of your work.

Ukrainian translation of ArchivesSpace now available for review
|
|
|
|
We are very pleased to announce that the ArchivesSpace application has been translated into its sixth language, Ukrainian.
This translation of the application was provided as a community contribution through the browser-based translation tool
Weblate.
We intend to make this translation available in the next release of ArchivesSpace. For now, you can test and explore this translation at
test.archivesspace.org.
This test instance of ArchivesSpace contains all ongoing development work and may contain bugs or otherwise not look exactly like a formal release of ArchivesSpace but if you’re interested in reviewing the translation, you’re welcome to do so by logging in
with the username admin and the password admin.
