Hello all,

We’ve recently been testing Archivesspace’s ARK functionality. We were wondering if it would be possible to disable Archivesspace’s internal ARK minter while still having the field and database table value for an external ARK URL.

We currently have our own minter tool, which generates an ARK URL for our repository objects. We then paste this URL into the external ARK URL field for the corresponding object in Archivesspace, overwriting the internally minted ARK from  Archivesspace. We are worried about archivists getting confused seeing the internal ARK URL and mistakenly thinking that the object has already been given an ARK, so we wanted to disable the internal ARK minter in Archivesspace of this reason.

We are interested in seeing if anyone else has implemented a similar setup and what ideas they have.
