Hey fellow ArchiveSpace users,

Yesterday when I turned on our work computer that we connect to ArchivesSpace with, I received a pop-up window that indicated that the Docker app "will damage your computer. You should move it to trash" (See attached file for the screenshot of the window). I could not get rid of the pop-up window unless I moved the application to the trash and emptied trash. Even after that, I am receiving the same pop-up window.

Has anyone ever had this come up for them? Just curious.

Thank you in advance!
Melia

Hi Melia,

We had similar issues. I received the following follow up message from Docker - good luck!

Dear Valued Docker User,
We are reaching out to inform you of a recent issue that has affected some macOS users of Docker Desktop. The issue may prevent Docker Desktop from starting, and in some cases, may also trigger inaccurate malware warnings. If you are using Docker Desktop version 4.29 or earlier, you are not affected.

You can find more details about the incident here.

Next Steps
To minimize the impact on your Docker experience, we recommend one of the following actions:
  • Upgrade to the Latest Version (recommended):
Download and install Docker Desktop version 4.37.2, which includes a fix for this issue.
  • Use a Patch Version (if upgrading isn’t possible):
We have released patch updates for versions 4.36 down to 4.32. You can find the links to the relevant updates here.
  • Apply Additional Corrective Steps:
If after upgrading or patching and you are still noticing the malware popup, you may need to apply additional corrective steps. Please see the detailed guide here.
We know how critical Docker Desktop is to your workflow and are committed to ensuring a smooth resolution. All remediation steps are documented here. If you encounter any issues or need assistance, please reach out to our Support Team.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
