Hi, folks,

     After yesterday's adventures, I reverted our test installation to its earlier running status.

     Today I started back up by, before doing anything, restarting the archivesspace service. When I did that, I got this message again:

The schema info version should be 175 for ArchivesSpace version v3.5.1.

 However, your schema info version is set at 157

Please ensure your migrations have been run and completed by using the setup-database script.

     I'm puzzled. How can an installation be running happily, then on restart, fail with a bad schema number? I did try running setup-database, and it agrees the schema is bad.

Thanks,

     John A

It's easy to get things crossed up when doing this stuff, happens all the time.

>>The schema info version should be 175 for ArchivesSpace version v3.5.1. However, your schema info version is set at 157

That's ArchivesSpace telling you the MySQL DB you have connected to is older than 3.5.1. Maybe that DB is from a backup that is an older version? That means you should run the update-database script to get those in sync.

This one from yesterday:

>>Java::ComMysqlJdbcExceptionsJdbc4::MySQLSyntaxErrorException: Table 'ark_uniq_check' already

That'll happen when the update database thing is run and failed for some reason. It got things partially upgraded, then stopped, and when you run it again it doesn't know what is going on because it sees something that it knows shouldn't be there based on the schema info it's seeing.

Hi, Blake,

     There's only one DB this instance can connect to, and it's the one it's running against now. (I reverted again to poke at it some more.) Where would I look in the database to check the schema number?

Thanks,

How are you getting the db you are running against? Is it a current db dump of your production system or some older dump? Just wondering if your production db has issues which you'd want to correct or if this is limited to the copy(ies) you are working with?

If this is an older dump, then I'd do a new one from production. Alternatively, you could start things up with a blank db to ensure that all of your plugins are working properly and then try and troubleshoot your actual data/db issues.
