Hello!
We've noticed an inconsistency in how instances are displayed after running a search in the PUI (see attached screenshot).

Sometimes, the full instance is listed (box, folder, etc.) plus the collection series number and other times, just the instance (File 33, Box 1, etc.). In the staff interface, both example are filled out identically, so we're a bit stumped as to what's happening.

Has anyone else come across this?

Thanks!
Tessa

On first glance I'm wondering if File vs Item makes a difference in display. I can't see why it would intentionally.

Two other factors I would be curious about would be whether the series in the instance have CUIs, and how many different series are contained in that instance.

Hi all,
I appreciate these responses and the ones I've received directly. To answer the questions, no, none of these have CUIs and oftentimes, the instances are not shared across collections. I've attached another screenshot showing how this issue happens with "File" as well. It's happening inconsistently, even if within the same collection.

It's an adventure!

The Donald Rod result is from a subseries, i.e. the search result is in the subseries Six cassette audiotapes…. which is in the series History of the UNI Library…..  The series History of the UNI Library has and Identifier 13/04/01 which is inherited by the items and subseries.

The series, New buildings and works of art for the Donald O Rod record does not have an identifier in the series field.
