Hi all,

I had a quick question on whether this issue is fixable or an AS known quirk. We are launching our public interface soon (our official announcement is to come next week!) and are doing some in-depth searching and testing ahead of our launch. We noticed that if we search for something on the public interface (such as a name of a past archivist), several records come up. However, this name only appears in the repository processing note which is private by default on AS. A patron looking at the records would be confused and have no idea why these records came up since the name does not appear on the public side. Is there a way to set which fields are used by the search engine? I'm not sure why the repository processing note would be on the list since there is no way to make that note public.

We are using AS 4.0.0.

Thanks!

Best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,

My understanding is that there is only a single index that covers both the public and staff interfaces, so it's not possible for something to be discoverable in the staff interface and not discoverable in the public interface.

Removing the repository processing note from the indexer would mean the text in it would not be discoverable via search in the staff interface.

All the best,

Dan
