Different update to 4.1.1 failing differently

I was pretty sure I did everything right, but this turned up:

Did you follow the instructions here: https://docs.archivesspace.org/provisioning/solr/? It sounds like you didn't update the Solr schema, etc files that come with any new version of AS. You'll need to move the schema, etc files into place and reset the core.

You know, I didn't update the Solr schema files, so I started over and did update them. I'm still getting the same failure. And interestingly enough, the test system I upgraded yesterday? It seems to be running just fine with with the wrong schema files. Isn't that odd?

There's a config setting that allows you to ignore the checksum failure 
AppConfig[:solr_verify_checksums]. Wondering if that may have been set to false in the other system?

It was, and the setting was apparently removed from the config.rb file on production. We'll see what the support folks have to say. I myself am puzzled.
