I was chatting with Marc, and he mentioned how great our platform has shaped up under Joe’s leadership. We should use it!

I have an idea. Maybe we could get one radical in every state where we have one to either join the state party platform committee or at least make a proposal to it. We could pick one plank to target or maybe one to three and have everyone propose the same ones. My first thought was immigration, but I’m not sure that makes sense for state party platforms. Maybe something on government budgeting or police… we have so much good material.

These changes can ‘trickle up’ to make the national platform more radical over the next few years as we (the lp and lprc) rebuild.

That’s fantastic. I like focusing on that one since it’s (1) amazing and (2) very relevant and (3) sorts libertarians nicely into ‘radical’ and ‘not radical’.

The only issue with immigration is it’s often seen as particularly federal, and many states (appropriately imo) focus on more statewide issues. There are state aspects of it though.

Don, can we work together to make a general doc that people might share with their state affiliates? Maybe rope Joe in as well for language that might be more relevant to states.
