With great sadness, Ray and I announce the death of our dear friend Michael Badnarik.  Michael celebrated his 68th birthday this week in his San Antonio apartment surrounded by friends.  

Many of you in this group had the privilege of learning about Liberty during one of Michaels's Constitution classes or through conversations with him at our Happy Hours.  As he often warned us, Liberty is no longer his problem.  Michael lit the fires of liberty in everyone that knew him.  It's up to us now to spread that fire.  Rest in peace dear Cowboy, your work here is done.  

His health had been failing for several years. Services have not yet been announced.  Michael shared a message recently on his website that included this excerpt:   

"Please do not mourn my death. Instead, celebrate the wonderful life I lived. If you are going to remember me, please remember me as a man of honor and integrity."  ~Michael Badnarik

Michael was a tireless fighter for our cause that will be dearly missed, and one of the first libertarians I ever discovered. I will NEVER forget watching speeches of him warning young people about the dangers of allowing government-expanding precedents and violations of liberty to go unchallenged. 

His unapologetic spirit will remain with all of us.
