Brothers of Lowwapaneu:
It is with deep sadness that I inform you of the passing of Marcel L. Cinquina. Marcel was well known throughout the Northeastern Pennsylvania Council, having served as our Scout Executive from 2011-16.
Marcel grew up in the Scouting and OA programs. At the 1969 National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC),
Marcel was one of 16 recipients of the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) for his youth service as an Area Chief. Marcel also kept the Vigil, among other honors, as a youth in 1966. His name was "Noisy One," which was evident in his steadfast resolve, hearty chuckle, and wisdom/wit.
As an adult, Marcel served as a Scout Executive from 2001-16. He joined NEPA and Lowwapaneu in 2011 from Columbia-Montour Council and Wyona Lodge. From 2002-16, he was a Section Staff Adviser, including serving as NE-5B and then NE-5 Section Staff Adviser. Through these roles, Marcel provided unparalleled support to youth and adults beyond just NEPA and Lowwapaneu. His positive impact on Pennsylvania and New Jersey councils and lodges is still prevalent today, and will be for many years to come.
Lowwapaneu is establishing a tribute opportunity in memory of Marcel. Contributions may be made directly to the council at
https://www.nepabsa.org/support. All memorial contributions will be invested in the Council Endowment Fund as a lasting tribute to Marcel and to support the future generations of scouts.
Our deepest condolences to everyone who had the pleasure of being friends, family, colleagues, and mentees of Marcel. Please keep Marcel's family in your thoughts and prayers.
YIS,
Mike Minello
Lodge Adviser
