Modern notebook question

Okay, I have not kept up with desktop technology.  I have a Thinkpad P52
with (1) Mini displayport and a couple of ports that are supposed to be
USB3/Thunderbolt ports.  They do work as USB-A ports, I've used them for
that.  Now I'm trying to figure out how to hook up 2 external monitors. 
One will be fine with the mini displayport, but I'm a bit lost finding a
cable for the other. Help?  I've done some online searches, but haven't
found anything that looks correct.

Some, but not all, USB3 ports implement the DisplayPort
alternate mode. If yours does, then the same adapter/breakout
box that works for a Mac will work for you.

The good news is that the spec says both your USB-C ports work
in DP alt-mode.
