I have started receiving spam email addressed to this email to TXT gateway, so it's extra annoying, as it arrives with a chime notification on my phone. I looked for any controls to change allow list, block list, change the email address that will come to me,
completely disable email to TXT gateway, anything. And I found nothing. The only option is to block all inbound calls and text from people who are not in your contacts. Who knows if that would even work when the sender is email, not a phone number. But it's
obviously not a solution, because you need to receive calls from people who aren't in your contacts.
If you google for "google fi receiving spam email to text" all you find is a whole bunch of people reporting the same problem, starting around June of this year, and a whole lot of people saying "me too," and no solution. I contacted Google Fi support, and
they told me to change my phone number, and join the national do-not-call registry.
The way I see it, I could change phone number, or change carrier. And I'm NOT changing my phone number. That's an insanely stupid solution for them to offer. And the do-not-call registry is almost an equally stupid suggestion.
I asked to be escalated to higher level support. The support person says in 24 hours I'll be contacted by a supervisor. I'm waiting for this now. I opened a question in the Community Support section. Just trying to get as much attention as possible, cuz obviously,
they're not doing anything.
