Also, if anyone who has been involved with the running of LOPSA all these years, thank-you. I joined early in my career, and have been unquestionably benefited from both the direct support in this forum, and the knowledge that there are - around the globe - other such fellow folk, seeking to do more than “collect the paycheque”.

LOPSA (and SAGE before it) benefited me enormously in my development. I'm deeply grateful for everyone who ever supported me on irc, mentored me in some hallway track conversation, or patiently answered my questions on mailing list threads.
LOPSA was instrumental for me. I'm sad to see it dying, but all things have a seasonality to them, so it's only natural. Thanks to all the load-bearing individuals who made it possible over the years, your careful stewardship was seen and appreciated.
