Hi Technology Committee volunteers,
We need help on a new interactive feature on our website, and we are
looking for website designers and PHP programmers to help out (but if
we can't find a designer, we will go ahead with just a programmer).
Here's what we want to do:
We want to bring Talking Books to a bunch of new villages; but to do
that, we need to raise the funds for each village. We are starting to
create a separate web page on our site for each village, and it is on
this web page, where I want to add this feature:
I would like each of these village web pages to have a grid of small
squares to represent households in the village. We would have 200 of
them, maybe 20x10. I want a donor to be able to click on them and
select one or more, and as they do, the page will indicate that they
are intending to donate $25 per household they click on. (It costs us
approximately $5000 per village, that's why we would use $25 x 200.)
If the person clicks on two of the squares, those two squares change
color to show that they are going to support bringing the Talking Book
program to those two households. Another part of the page should
update to show that they are committing to donate $50 ($25 x 2). When
they are done, they press a button and are taken to the Google
Checkout or Paypal page to make their $50 donation.
When the next person visits that same village's webpage, they will see
that someone has already donated for those two households. That next
person can then click on some of the remaining squares to select their
donation.
When all the squares have been selected and donation for, we will
update the page to indicate that we now have all the funds needed, and
we will prepare to launch the Talking Book program in that village.
Anyone interested in helping work on this?
Thanks,
Cliff
