Hello Pirate Family and Happy "Lions, Tigers and Pirates, Oh My!" Friday!
What a great time to be a sports fan as we are so fortunate to have so many options to support our favorite teams, especially our own Pinckney Pirates who are continuing to work hard as we are entering the final weeks of the fall season, with some of our Pirates participating in postseason play as our Girls Field Hockey Team began their playoff run with a win over Grand Blanc 3-1 earlier in the week and will finish their regular season this afternoon against Dexter at 4pm. We also want to c
ongratulate both Katelyn Sanchez and Camryn Ligrow as they qualified for the Girls Golf State Finals on October 17th and 18th at Michigan State University! Good luck ladies!!

We're thrilled to welcome Rodolfo (Rudy) Gomez as our newest Board of Education Trustee, who was appointed with a 6-0 vote at Monday night's board meeting. Rudy, a parent at Country Elementary and a mechanical engineer, knows firsthand the power of a great education. He’s incredibly dedicated to making sure every student has a plan to continue learning and succeeding after high school. He’s passionate about advocating for learning experiences that truly engage all students, and he’s ready to use his professional skills in problem-solving and teamwork to help us keep improving PCS for our students, staff, and community. Welcome aboard Rudy and GO PIRATES!

Our District Leadership Team kicked off our work for the 2025-26 school year yesterday afternoon by beginning to think about our strategic goals for the next five years as we celebrated the completion of our previous plan that was created in 2020 that included grade reconfigurations, expansion of preschool at Country and Farley Hill, Implementation of Positivity Project, achieving financial stability, enrollment stabilization, curriculum alignment, strategic resource management and increasing community engagement. We look forward to charting the path for the next leg of our journey as we continue to make PCS a great place for our Pirate community!
Our PCHS Leadership Class is once again working hard to reach their goal of raising $11,250 that will be used to support Pinckney Operations Christmas Wish which help them purchase, wrap and deliver Christmas gifts to nearly 300 students who may not otherwise receive a gift this holiday season. This service learning project is a great opportunity for our students to put their leadership skills into action as they plan, organize and execute all that goes into a project of this magnitude and our support would mean the world to them as look to show others outside our community the size of our hearts and what truly makes being a Pinckney Pirate so special. Thank you for considering helping our students as they put their leadership and service into action. GO PIRATES!!
I am once again excited to share the monthly update for our LINK Alternative Pathway for Success Program as we are so proud to highlight the success of our LINK students!
In last weeks email, I shared the law regarding
safe gun storage as required by state law and was later contacted by a PCS parent who works at Pinckney IHA (across for PCHS) who is providing free gun locks that our community can obtain by simply stopping by and wanted to make our Pirate community aware of this generous offer. This parent has been working with the VA to obtain the locks, with over 1,000 being distributed over the course of the year and has plenty more for those who could use a lock for their home. We appreciate our Pirate community who continue to look out for one another in an effort to keep our students and community safe. GO PIRATES!! 🏴☠️🏴☠️
At last Friday night's football game, we were proud to honor our tremendous Athletic Trainer, Jay Richardson for his 20 years of service in PCS as he has not only taken great care of our student athletes, but his mentorship and the positive influence he has had on thousands of Pirates has been equally impactful and we are so appreciative of his commitment to our district and community. Thank you Jay and GO PIRATES!!

It is hard to believe that next Friday marks the end of the 1st quarter marking period and I couldn't be more proud of the energy, positivity, hard work and sense of unity our students and staff have demonstrated. As a testament to this, we have had several visitors who work in education recently spend time in our schools and each of them has commented on the energy they feel and are very quick to point out that this is not the norm in many schools they visit and what we have here is special. Although this is something I am able to recognize on a daily basis, it is very easy for many of us who live and breathe this work every day to lose sight of how amazing our students, staff and community are and it is always nice to be reminded of this by those who can observe what we are blessed to experience each and every day. Thank you to everyone in our Pirate community who play a part in making PCS a great place for our students to learn, grow and become the very best Pirates they can be! GO PIRATES!! 🏴☠️🏴☠️
Have a great weekend and let's go Lions, Tigers and Pirates!! 🦁🐯☠️
