Hello Pirate Families and Happy "It still feels like winter 👎" Friday!

Spring’s Slow Arrival & Celebrating Our Standout Seniors!

While we’ve enjoyed a few fleeting glimpses of spring over the past month, the recent cold mornings, chilly afternoons, and even snow have been more than a little discouraging. Not only is it frustrating, but the wintry weather has also disrupted the start of our spring sports season—forcing reschedules (never an easy task!) or leaving our Pirates to compete in less-than-ideal conditions. Here’s hoping this weekend’s warm-up marks the start of a true spring trend!

In brighter news, we’re just two months away from celebrating the Class of 2025—and we couldn’t be prouder to announce this year’s top scholars! Please join us in congratulating:

  • Valedictorian Zachary Newman

  • Salutatorian Samuel Baghdadchi

  • SEC All-Academic Senior Scholars Raphaella Gonzalez, Henrik Woehle, and Jenna Vandezande

These outstanding Pirates—along with all their classmates—represent the very best of our district, community, and the next generation of leaders. Congratulations to the Class of 2025!

We also want to shine a light on LINK student, Lachlan Kauserad, whose unwavering determination and grit continue to inspire us all. Through hard work and resilience, he’s chasing his goals and turning aspirations into achievements—true Pirate spirit!

Way to go, Lachlan! Keep setting the bar high!

Introducing Our New PCHS Strength Coaches!

We’re thrilled to announce Buck West (Varsity Football Coach) and Cameron Walls (The Fit Diabetic) as Pinckney Community High School’s new strength coaches! Together, they’ll work to:
✅ Elevate athletic performance for all Pirates
✅ Reduce injury risk through smart training
✅ Teach lifelong fitness & movement skills

This is a major investment by our district—one we believe will pay off for every athletic program and, most importantly, our student-athletes.

What This Means for Our Pirates:

  • After-School Training: A strength coach will be available daily for 2-3 hours (based on demand).

  • Summer Access: Coaches will also be on-site 2-3 hours/weekday (except dead week), with hours set around athlete/coach availability.

The Dynamic Duo:

To ensure year-round support, Buck and Cameron will split leadership:

  • June 1–November 30: Cameron Walls leads the charge.

  • December 1–May 31: Buck West takes the reins.

Both bring incredible expertise and mentorship to our athletes—helping them grow stronger, safer, and healthier in and out of season.

Welcome aboard, Coaches! Let’s get to work—GO PIRATES! 🏴‍☠️💪

A Thank You & Important Reminders

Beginning of Testing Season Success!
A huge thank you to our incredible Pirate staff and students for kicking off testing season on the right foot! Behind the scenes, countless hours have gone into preparing for the SAT, PSAT, and M-STEP—from tech setup and special education accommodations to navigating College Board guidelines. We know assessments aren’t always the highlight of the school year, but our students have shown tremendous focus and cooperation. Way to go, Pirates!

Upcoming Schedule Notes:

  • No School – Good Friday (April 18)

  • Easter Holiday – Sunday, April 20

Support Our Pirates!
Mark your calendars for the 5th Annual Mattress Fundraiser on Saturday, April 26! Upgrade your sleep while supporting our Pirate Music Program—it’s a win-win!

As always, we’re grateful for this amazing community’s support. Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend—and as always, GO PIRATES! 🏴‍☠️
