Hello Pirate Families and Happy "Spring Break" Friday!

It is so exciting to be able to say "Happy Spring Break!" as we have all worked so hard to get to this point of the school year as it truly represents the "race to the finish line" as we push through the final two months/9 weeks of school. The months of April & May can definitely feel like a sprint as immediately upon returning from spring break on Tuesday, April 7, our high school and Pathfinder students will be thrust into state testing with SAT/PSAT/MSTEP assessments, with the MSTEP occurring shortly after for all our students in grades 3-8.

April/May is also an exciting time as we begin to celebrate our amazing Class of 2026 before sending them off at graduation on May 31. I would like to begin by celebrating several of our senior scholars by introducing our Class of 2026 Valedictorian, Griffin Peltier, Salutatorian, Colin Ozias, and their fellow Top 5 SEC All-Academic recognition earners, Daniel Eppler, Nathan Sandula, and Isabella Wittrup! This is a hard-working crew of scholars! Congratulations, Pirates!

As someone who graduated high school back in 1988, spring break definitely had a little different feel and vibe than it does today and as a parent myself with a senior who is heading to Florida, I am so glad so many of our Pirate parents are choosing to spend time (a.k.a. chaperone😉) with our students to ensure they can have both a great and safe time. I know many of our parents come from the same generation as myself and for nostalgia's sake, I would like to share what spring break looked like for many of us Gen X'ers with a little MTV Spring Break memory (heck, you may even find me somewhere in this grainy video😁).

I am sure some of our families and students are already on their way to some place warm and sunny by the time they receive this email and do hope everyone who is or will be traveling has a safe trip and enjoys the time away with their friends and family. I also want to wish our Pirate Family a Happy Easter holiday and once again, we will be coming back together on Tuesday, April 7 to begin our last leg of the school year. Thank you for your trust and support as we continue to work in partnership in creating a memorable school experience for our students. Take care and as always, GO PIRATES!! 🏴‍☠️
