Hello Pirate Family and Happy "Adiós January" Friday!

As we try to find a silver lining in the blanket of cold and snow surrounding us, the best we can come up with is that we’re officially saying goodbye to January and holding out hope that February brings more normal and manageable temperatures for this time of year. We’re also looking ahead to Groundhog Day on Monday and keeping our fingers crossed that the pesky groundhog doesn’t see his shadow, giving us hope for an early spring! ❄️🌷

We are also looking forward to the start of the Winter Olympics next Friday and can’t wait to cheer on Team USA. Even more exciting, we’ll be proudly supporting our very own Pinckney Pirate, Jake Vedder, as he competes in his second Olympic Games as a member of the U.S. Snowboard Cross Team. We know Jake and his fellow USA Olympians will make us proud! GO USA AND GO PIRATES! 🇺🇸🏴‍☠️🇺🇸🏴‍☠️

We’ve already started receiving questions about Pirate Summer Camp, and since we’ve been locked in what feels like an endless polar vortex, we thought it would be a great time to share some information and at the very least, a few pictures to help remind us what summer looks and feels like. 😁.

Just a reminder that we are inviting parents of prospective preschool and kindergarteners for the 2026-27 school year to join at either Country or Farley Hill Elementary on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 6:30pm for our annual Kindergarten Round up.

Lastly, we are excited to be partnering with the YMCA in hosting a March Mania 3 v. 3 basketball tournament on Saturday, March 14. Please see the flyer below for more info and registration process.

Our hope for next week is to return to a full five-day week of school, as the lack of a consistent routine has been challenging for many of us, especially our students. We’re also excited to celebrate Winterfest week at the high school, culminating with the Boys and Girls Varsity Basketball games against Jackson on Friday night, followed by the Winterfest dance on Saturday evening.

Thank you for your continued support, flexibility, and patience over the past few weeks. We truly understand the strain that school closures can place on families, particularly with childcare and work responsibilities, and we are grateful for your partnership.

Have a wonderful weekend, and as always, GO PIRATES! 🖤🏴‍☠️♥️
