Hello Pirate Families and Happy Homecoming Friday!!
It's already been a great start to our day and the excitement and energy that Homecoming brings in a community like ours is special and something we should be proud of! Our schools are a sea of Red & Black today and we are looking forward to a day filled with Pirate Pride, which will include the ever popular Pirate Homecoming Assembly at the high school, the best Homecoming Parade at 4:30, Homecoming activities at PCHS hosted by People's Church immediately following the parade and of course, the football game (and win!) versus Ypsilanti at 7pm. Our students at PCHS will conclude the week with the traditional Homecoming Dance at Pirate Stadium tomorrow night at 8pm.
We also recognize that some groups/families will choose to tailgate at PCHS after the parade and although we welcome the opportunity to spend this time together as a Pirate family, we need to remind everyone that we expect those in attendance to respect our school guidelines of not bringing in any alcohol, cigarettes, vapes, etc. into the parking lot and/or stadium as once again, this is a family friendly school event and we as the adults need to be the positive role models for our students and community. We appreciate your support!
Looking forward to next week, Wednesday, October 1 is designated as our fall Student Count Day in which the State of Michigan uses our total recorded enrollment to determine 90% of our total state aid funding that we receive, with the additional 10% coming from the February winter Student Count Day. As we do throughout the entire school year, we encourage and expect every student to be in attendance given they are healthy and able. Thank you as always for helping support our children being in attendance not only on this important day, but each and every day thereafter.
We do hope that everyone has a great day today as once again, this is one of the most exciting times of the year for our students, staff and community and we hope everyone has a great time, stays safe and is filled with enormous Pirate Pride!
