Hello Pirate Family and Happy Last Friday of the Year!!!
Can you believe it??? This is our last Friday of the school year, with only 2 1/2 days left next week! It has been a great week of festivities here at PCS that included our Senior Award Ceremony, Senior All-NIght Party, Senior Clap-Out, field day events and our first district-wide Preschool Graduation Ceremony. Speaking of graduation, we are excited to be honoring and celebrating our Senior Class of 2024 this Sunday morning at Pirate Stadium with the ceremonies beginning at 10am. The weather for Sunday has not been easy to project as it seems like the forecast changes by the hour, but as we are getting closer, it is looking like there will be some rain in the area during the early morning hours on Sunday, but is expected to be dry during the daylight hours. We may have to contend with trying to wipe chairs/bleachers down to dry them off, but for those planning on attending, please watch for an email from HS Principal, Julia McBride as she will provide more specific information regarding the event and any changes that may need to be made. We are going to work very hard to keep the event outside as it allows for families to include a larger number of family members who would like to attend, so we may just ask you to bring a towel or blanket to sit on to keep dry 😉.
As stated, we had many great events this week to celebrate our seniors, which included the annual Senior Clap-out that provides the opportunity for our entire Pirate Family to recognize the accomplishment of our Seniors, while allowing our students to walk through the halls of the schools they spent many years in prior to coming to PCHS and more importantly, to see the smiles and tears of many of the fantastic teachers they had who helped them get to this point in their lives. I provided videos of each of the five clap outs on our district FB page, but will also provide links to the videos below for those who are not connected with us on social media.
One of the biggest additions we made to PInckney Community Schools this past year was the expansion of our Lil' Pirates Preschool Program, integrating all of our early childhood programs within our existing elementary schools at both Country and Farley Hill Elementary. We are so proud of the work our tremendous preschool staff did this year as we are well on our way in creating the highest quality preschool program in the county and the word is definitely getting out as our enrollment for the fall is already well over 100, requiring us to continue expanding with more classrooms, which is a wonderful problem to have! We honored all of the hard work of everyone involved, especially our PIrates who will be heading to kindergarten next year with our first ever, district-wide Preschool graduation. Make sure to watch the provided video of Mrs. Brockway's students singing their own version of Journey's Don't Stop Believing 😁Congratulations Lil' Pirates!!

We want to wish all of our Pirates who will be competing in this weekend's State Track & Field Championships in Holland the very best of luck as we have several individuals who have a great opportunity to not only place in the Top 10, but could very well walk away with the title of "State Champion". GOOD LUCK & LET'S GO PIRATES!!

Don't forget that this is not only graduation weekend in PCS, but it is also "Art in the Park" weekend in the Village of Pinckney and we hope you can find some time to come down to the Village Square as this is a great event for our community.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and we look forward to seeing many of you at Pirate Stadium for graduation on Sunday. I would love to end by sharing some pics from this past week as it truly has been special and fun!! Thanks for all you do for our Pirates!!
GO PIRATES!!🏴☠️
