Hello Pirate Families and Happy Halloween/Friday Eve!!

It's often said that it is the little things in life that can bring the most joy and for many parents and teachers, having Halloween fall on a Friday with NO SCHOOL is such a HUGE treat 🍭! Despite not having school tomorrow, our Pirates took advantage of showcasing their Halloween spirit today that included parades at the elementary schools, trips to the Chamber Farm, costume contests and pure Pirate fun! 🎃🏴‍☠️

For those who have been part of our Pirate community for some time, you are familiar with the rich history of success that our Pirate Cross Country has created that includes multiple state championships and on Saturday, November 1, our Boys & Girls teams will once again compete for both team and individual awards at MIS Speedway in Brooklyn and we want to wish them the very best as we know they will continue to make us proud! GO PIRATES!! 🏴‍☠️🏃

Pinckney High School science teacher Stacy Trosin was surprised Tuesday morning with a $12,000 check to further her project called "Antibiotic Resistance in Soil" as part of the Voya Foundation's Unsung Heroes Project. Mrs. Trosin's research is a collaboration with Tufts University, where her students act as citizen scientists, collecting and analyzing samples from areas they suspect may harbor resistant bacteria. Stacy's project is one of the top three winners of the 2025 national Voya Unsung Heroes program, and the $10,000 grant is in addition to a $2,000 grant announced last month when state winners were selected. Way to go Mrs. Trosin as we are so proud of the work you are doing with our Pirate Scientists!! 🏴‍☠️🔬🧬

I just want to share a couple of reminders for parents as students will have half-days of school next Thursday & Friday (Nov. 6 & 7) as part of parent/teacher conferences. I am confident that each individual school has been sharing information regarding the process for conferences and as always, our goal is to keep the lines of communication available and accessible throughout the entirety of the school year, so please don't hesitate to reach out to us with a concern or question at any time as conferences serve as one touch point in what is a long school year. I also want to remind everyone that this weekend is Daylight Savings in which we will be moving the clocks back 1-hour, providing a little more light in the morning for the time being, but will conversely bring darkness much earlier than many of us would like 👎.

Wishing everyone a fun and safe three-day Halloween weekend and once again, wishing our Pirate runners the very best at the state meet! Continue to take care of one another and as always, GO PIRATES!! 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️
