Hello Pirate Family and Happy "Christmas is less than 2 weeks away!" Friday (YIKES 😬!)
I didn't intend to start my weekly email by creating any additional anxiety, but when looking at the calendar, it just dawned upon me that Christmas is only 13 days away and I am sure I am not alone in feeling unprepared for Santa to visit on the 24th. The holidays can definitely bring a lot of joy and memories, but there always seems to be so much to do in the weeks following the Thanksgiving break that it can feel overwhelming at times, which holds true not only for us as parents, but also for our teachers and students as there is a lot to accomplish before heading into the much needed break.
As a reminder, next Friday, December 19 not only marks the beginning of our break at the end of the day, but also, it brings close to the end of the 1st semester for our students, primarily for our students in grades 6-12. Our high school students will be spending much of their time next week preparing for and taking their end of the semester exams. Teachers will be busy grading exams and beginning to prepare end of semester grades, which is why we have a half day of school on the 19th as it provides time for teachers to get as much done as they can before leaving for the break. Final report cards will be available for parents/students to view in MiStar on January 12, 2026.
Our Pirate Leadership Class spent last Thursday making students smile and hearts swell as they distributed gifts to students in two Ypsilanti schools as part of Operation Christmas Wishes. We are so proud of the service and leadership our students displayed over the past two months as they all have worked so hard, raising over $13,000 in just over 6 weeks! I am confident that our students got as much out of this experience as those they visited with, which is a powerful lesson in leadership itself. Way to go PIRATES!!

I want to end by thanking everyone for their patience, understanding and flexibility as we experienced our first snow day of the season on Wednesday and looking ahead at next week's forecast, I think we are safe to say that it will be the last one of the year (of 2025 that is😉)! If you're one of those well organized parents who have all of their shopping done or maybe just want to take a break, please feel free to come out and support our Pirates this weekend as we are hosting the Lincoln RailSplitters tonight at 7pm to take on our Varsity Boys Basketball team at PCHS. We are also hosting our annual "Season Beatings" Wrestling Tournament tomorrow (12/13) at Pathfinder Middle School (complex and Pathfinder gymnasiums) beginning at 9am and it is a great event to see our amazing Pirate grapplers in action as they take on some high quality competition from throughout the region. 💪🏴☠️
Thank you for your continued support and trust as we appreciate the gift of educating your children you have given us. Have a great weekend and as always, GO PIRATES!! 🏴☠️🏴☠️
